For this episode we speak to Timothy Winegard about his fascinating new book, rich with epic tales and equine stories of man's dependency on one of the world's most amazing animals - the horse. There's an astonishing number of twists and turns in the history of the horse. Not the least of which is that they originate in North America, a certain number leave and go across the land bridge before the rise of the ocean while the remaining American horses die out. Those that make it to Asia, nearly come to extinction, but then are saved via their domestication by humans. I hope you enjoy this galloping conversation about this amazing animal that has had such an outsized role in human history and certainly in the Great Plains.
